Shawn is an educator with the District of Columbia and Prince George's County Public Schools, where he is dedicated to empowering students and fostering academic excellence. He is currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration Management from Southeastern University in Washington, DC, and continues his studies through Walden University’s online programs.
Shawn’s contributions extend far beyond the classroom. He is a founding member of the Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL) Guild, where he was honored for his service, and has received recognition for his role on the Board of Directors of the Calvin Coolidge Alumni Association, Inc. (CCAA). His exceptional volunteerism earned him the title of Volunteer of the Year through his contributions of Thursday Network Young Professionals of the Greater Washington Urban League.
Shawn is actively involved in numerous organizations, including Thursday Network Young Professionals, where he inspires young leaders, and Vermont Avenue Baptist Church, where he serves as a member and volunteer. Additionally, he is affiliated with the AFSCME Local 2921 Support Staff Union, advocating for his peers and supporting the local workforce.
Outside of his professional and community endeavors, Shawn enjoys event planning, singing, travel, and playing cards, showcasing his creative and multifaceted personality.
